CTA's 2024 "Multi-Day Tour #7"
Schedule and Meeting Places

CTA's 2024 "Multi-Day Tour #7" has completed, read here for trip reports, and check www.catamounttrail.org for more skiing opportunities.

The tour dates are Thursday February 22, 2024 to Sunday February 25, 2024.

If you decide to skip a day that you are signed up for, please try to call me at 413 834 0274.

If you are running late, try to call me. Cell phones don't work at most of these places, leave a message anyway. We probably won't wait for you, so if you miss us you can drive to the start of skiing to try to catch us, or ski "backwards" to meet us. Realize that if you try to catch us and don't actually catch us, you will end up at the end-point trail head with no way to get back to your car.

The basic daily routine is to get enough cars to the end point, in the morning, and get all the skiers to the start in as few cars as possible. Then we ski, then shuttle the drivers (and possibly passengers) of the 'start' cars back to their cars. This requires everyone's cooperation. See the Logistics link for more information on how this all works.

Please review, print out and bring with you!, or SAVE to your phone the Shuttle Directions for driving from one end of these sections to the other.

The CTA Interactive Trail Map is a great resource for finding the trail head parking and meeting places listed here. However it does not seem to always be up-to-date. Be sure to turn on the Trailhead Parking options on the Interactive Trail Map, and anything else you want to show up. Be sure to check each section's webpage for the most up-to-date information.

A Delorme Atlas (or other, not just a state highway map) is helpful both for finding the meeting place and for doing the car shuttle.

See each section description on the CTA Interactive trail map for complete descriptions of each section, including directions to the trail heads. A well-prepared skier will print these out and bring them!

These meeting places are all detailed in the Guidebook pages for the relevant sections. Please SAVE these Section pdfs to your phone or print them. Cell service is not guaranteed! We will be meeting at 9am each day. Look for my car, a silver VW Jetta wagon with a roof box.

Thurs (Sec 23) 9:00am: Meet at Edson Hill Touring Center. We will ski northbound today. Be prepared to buy a trail pass for the Trapps Family Lodge's touring center, and possibly at Edson Hill as well, please. Your membership booklet gives you a two-for-one.

Fri (Sec 22) 9:00am: Meet at the Trapps Family Lodge's touring center at N44.46378,W72.74563 at the far edge of the parking lot. We will ski northbound today.

Sat (Sec 20) 9:00am: Meet at Honey Hollow Parking Area - Bolton. We will ski northbound today.

Sun (Sec 21) 9:00am: Meet at The Driving Range https://maps.app.goo.gl/K8YpRwZftTgvsfMF9 on Rt 2 in Bolton. As of this writing the online information seems to be confused about this, the interactive map still shows Pineo Brook as the parking. We will ski southbound today.

* If you have some extenuating circumstances and a pile of brownies for me, I'll consider letting some folks drive directly to the start of skiing, skipping the shuttle. Recognize that when you do this you are throwing yourself on the mercy of your compatriots to get you back to your car, without having helped out yourself (that day), so you might want to bring two piles of brownies.

When driving to trailheads, use common sense when looking for 'end of plowing', and don't always believe your GPS, and don't drive drunk. Not sure which of these issues this driver had, he/she was not with us.
